Gallery View doesn't support fallback frames (participant names on black screen) for participants who's cameras are off. To get the fallback frames, use Gallery View V2 instead

FAQ

Is there a maximum number of participants displayed in the recording when using gallery view?

Yes. When using both gallery_view or gallery_view_v2, the maximum number of participants shown in the final mp4 (or real-time video stream) is capped depending on the meeting platform:

  • Zoom: 16 participants
  • Google Meet: 16 participants
  • Microsoft Teams: 9 participants

This is dictated by meeting platform limitations, and thus cannot be overridden.
